Cultural Care Au Pair
Application Process

If you have met the requirements, it's easy to become an Au Pair. We'll be with you every step of the way...

Pre-apply!
Why not pre-apply today! It's so easy, all we need are a few details for you to pre-apply now!

You can also call us on 1800 677 373 or 02 9252 2977 and we'll help you get started or download the full application formpdf_icon today!

Application Form
The quickest way to apply is to download the complete application
form
pdf_icon. This means that you can start filling in your application immediately and submit it at the information meeting!

Otherwise, when you come along to our information meeting you will receive a complete application pack on the day. Included in the application pack will be an outline of everything you need to become a Cultural Care Au Pair. This includes your completed application form, 3 non-family references, a personal letter to the host family, a photo collage and personal health information. You will also need to send in a copy of your high school certificate and your driver’s license, but you don't have to worry because all of this is explained at your information meeting.

Information Meetings
Cultural Care Au Pair holds regular information meetings in all major cities and towns across Australia. The meeting is designed to answer your questions and give you the opportunity to talk to a former au pair and hear about their experience with Cultural Care, working and travelling in America. We will also have a short interview with you to learn all about you.

You are welcome to bring along your parents or other friends and family as we want them to be just as excited as you are! Find out about the next information session near you.

Before you leave for your year in America we will also need a Health Certificate from your doctor and a criminal record check. Both of these have a small fee which you will need to pay for yourself. Please see our fees page for full details.

Host Family Selection
Once we have received your completed application and checked your references, we will begin the search for your host family. When we've found you the perfect host family, we will set up a telephone interview between you and the family. This provides the chance to get to know each other and ask them about their children, household and where they live. This is your chance to ask as many questions as you like and we are happy to help you prepare for this call!

After the call is over, both you and the family have time to decide if this is the right match. Once you have made up your mind, just let us know and we can start working on your visa and flight tickets.

Visa and Travel Arrangements
Once you've decided on your host family, we will send you the visa and insurance information and take care of your flight arrangements. Cultural Care Au Pair provides free basic health and accident insurance to all au pairs, however we also offer full and comprehensive insurance and recommend it to everyone travelling to the USA.

Our Au Pair Training School in New York
On arrival in the USA you will spend 5 days at the Cultural Care Au Pair Training School in New York State, where you will learn useful childcare skills and meet other au pairs from around the world. Read more about our Au Pair Training School!
